With the current COVID-19 pandemic that has taken all over the world, it is quite evident now that a pandemic can strike anytime and we need to be prepared for it. By ignoring it and thinking that it will never happen to you,  you are not only putting yourselves at risk but also people around you.

Here are 10 ways by which you can make sure to stay healthy during this pandemic.

1. Wash your hands with soap as frequently as possible

Any regular soap has the tendency of killing the virus. Wash your hands for at least 30 secs thoroughly between fingers and under nails especially immediately after sneezing or coughing.

2. Disinfect surfaces regularly

Common surfaces that we come in contact with on a regular basis like doorknobs, elevator buttons, handles, switches, etc are very much prone to be infected with the virus. Make sure to regularly clean those surfaces with disinfect.

3. Don’t share food utensils used by a sick member of your family

Avoid sharing personal utensils like plates, glasses, towels, etc from a sick member of your family.

4. Follow a healthy diet

Have foods that help boost your immune system in your daily diet. 

5. Practice breathing exercises

Performing pranayamas or breathing techniques to your daily exercise routine can make your lungs more effective to fight against COVID-19.

6. Don’t shake your hands, or hug people

Physical contact with an infected person is one of the main reasons why COVID-19 spreads, so always try avoiding coming in contact with a person through handshakes or through hugging people.

7. Don’t touch your face

Avoid touching your nose, mouth, or rub eyes too much unless you have properly washed your hand with soap or an alcohol-based sanitizer.

8. Avoid Crowds

In crowds, it is less likely you will be able to maintain a safe 1-meter distance from other people, and hence the chances of contracting the virus are high.

9. Wear gloves in public

Wearing gloves will help you in not getting infected by the COVID-19 virus if for some reason you happen to get in contact on a surface that is infected by the virus.
